Lock wins duathlon on new course

13 12 2009

On a new course out past the dam on Taylor Pass Road, veteran Ryan Lock showed his younger rivals that the Duathlon is really three sports, not two. One part running, one part cycling, and one part running-off-the-bike. Keeping youngster and bike specialist, Andrew Curnow, in check during the first run and bike, Lock caught and passed Curnow with 3km to go (of 5km) and went on to win by 42sec.

This was the 3rd round of the Blenheim Physiotherapy & Cycle World summer series. Next race is on 10/1/10

Just a quick update in relation to the points earned toward the Club Championship after three races:

WOMEN
Almuth Waechter retains her lead but there is not a lot between her and Rachel Monk.

MEN
Corey Mackay has taken over the lead from Mark Grammer (but only by a single point!).
